Edgar A. Janelle, 85, of Hebron Avenue, a loving brother and uncle, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was born in Attleboro on Oct. 30, 1922, and was a son of the late Domino and Felicite (Brousseau) Janelle.

Edgar was educated and resided for most of his life in Seekonk. A mason and masonry contractor by trade for many years, Edgar later was employed by the Seekonk Public School system, from where he retired. In his earlier years, Edgar was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in Vermont. In more recent times, his passion was fly tying and fly fishing in the waters of Pittsburg, N.H. Edgar was a member of the Attleboro Lodge of Elks, BPOE 1014 and the Wrentham Sportsman's Club.

During World War II, Edgar honorably served in the U.S. Army in Europe.

Mr. Janelle is survived by his five beloved brothers: Raymond Janelle of Seekonk, Arthur Janelle of Attleboro, Robert Janelle of Norton, Armand Janelle of Pawtucket, and Roland Janelle of Zephyr Hills, Fla; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was the loving brother of the late Dona Janelle, Desnieges Janelle, Deloris Mingo, Claire Rushlow and Theresa Boisse.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, Feb. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, celebrated by the Rev. George Scale, Pastor. Mr. Janelle will be laid to rest with full military honors recognizing his honorable service during World War II by the U.S. Army in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Dodgeville.
