Helen (Janelle)Derouin, 89, of Wild Street, a retired nurse and dental assistant, died Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence.

She was the wife of the late Horace A. Derouin. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Arthur N. and Mary F. Janelle, she had lived in Providence most of her life.

Mrs. Derouin had worked as a private-duty nurse in nursing homes, and as an office manager and dental assistant.

She was a gourmet cook, taught cooking, and enjoyed music.

She leaves a son, Frank Calcagni of Cranston; three daughters, Joyce R. Migliaccio of Derry, N.H., Arline M. Bliss of Reno, Nev., and Frances L. O'Donnell of Barrington; and 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Edward Janelle, Doris Derouin and Louise Higney.

The funeral will be held tomorrow 8 a.m. from the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Edward Church, 997 Branch Ave. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery.
