Jerome P. “Jerry” Janelle, 86, of Manchester, died April 17, 2008, at Maple Leaf Health Care Facility after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester, NH August 4, 1921 and was the son of Omer and Odila (Cullerot) Janelle. He had been a Manchester resident all of his life.

He served in the US Army during World War II and then in the Army Reserves for eighteen years.

Jerry had been a plumbing supply salesman for Goulet Supply Inc. for over twenty-five years. Prior to that he worked for Moreau’s Department Store and Prudential Life Insurance.

He was a communicant of St. Jean Baptiste Church where he sang in the church choir for over fifty years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the Church Building Committee.

Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to take drives to the beach and was an avid golf fan. Jerry was known for his terrific singing voice and sense of humor.

IN HIS LIFE:He leaves his wife of 63 years, Claire M. (Lemire) Janelle of Manchester; sister Claire (Janelle) Rivard of Manchester; five daughters, Louise Janelle of Dover, NH, Constance Janelle and her husband Russell Davis of West Grove, PA, Jacqueline Brough and her husband Richard of Dunbarton, NH, Felice Janelle of Hooksett, NH, and Andrea Plante and her husband Ronald of North Conway, NH; grandchildren Janelle (Hammer) Kubica and her husband Jeff, Joy (Hammer) Fredette and her husband Frank, Melanie Hoitt, John Hoitt, Emma Plante, and Mia Plante; step-grandchildren Richard Brough Jr. and his wife Amanda and Pamela Purk and her husband Nathan; several nieces & nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday April 26, 2008 in The Church of the Transfiguration on Kelly St. in Manchester. Burial took place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd. Manchester.
