Sylvere (Silver) Janelle, 75, of 44 Greenock St., and formerly of Westfield Street, West Springfield, died Thursday (March 22, 2001) at home. He worked at Premoid Corp. of West Springfield for 30 years, and also at the former Handy Slaughterhouse in Springfield. Born in Holyoke (Mass.), he lived in Springfield before moving to West Springfield in 1974. He attended schhools in Springfield and American International College. He was a Navy veteran of World War ll and a member of American Legion Post 207 and Veterans of Foreingn Wars Post 6714.

He leaves two sisters, Rachel Gosselin of Bradenton, Florida, and Clothilde (Tilly) Colburn of the Feeding Hills section.

The funeral will be at the convenience of the family, with burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, West Springfield. Curran Jones Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Western New England, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01102
